Refund Policy

The short version: we want you to feel good about working with us. Custom work is billed for the time and craft it takes, so it generally isn’t refundable once it’s underway — but monthly plans have no lock-in and you can cancel anytime. If something feels unfair, email team@lyfework.io and we’ll talk it through.

1.Overview

This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for products and services provided by Lyfework (“Lyfework,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It applies to everything you purchase from us — custom design and build work, software and systems, monthly plans, and any setup or onboarding fees.

This Policy is part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. Where an individual proposal, statement of work, or order form (each, an “Order”) you sign with us says something different about refunds, the terms of that signed Order control.

2.Definitions

Project FeesOne-time fees for custom work — for example designing and building a website, or building out systems and software for your business.
Subscription FeesRecurring fees billed monthly (or on another agreed cycle) for ongoing plans, retainers, hosting, support, or managed services.
Setup FeesOne-time fees for onboarding, configuration, migration, or initial buildout that prepares a subscription or service to run.
DepositAn upfront amount paid to reserve our time and begin work on a project.

3.Custom Project Work

Custom work is billed for the time, expertise, and craft it takes to produce. Because that value is delivered as the work happens, Project Fees and Deposits are generally non-refundable once work has begun.

  • Before work begins. If you cancel after paying a Deposit but before we’ve started, we’ll refund the Deposit minus any third-party costs already incurred on your behalf (for example domains, stock assets, or paid software).
  • After work begins. Amounts for work already performed, and any milestone that has been delivered, are non-refundable. If you cancel mid-project, you’re responsible for the work completed up to the cancellation date.
  • Milestone projects. Where an Order is billed in milestones, each milestone is earned and non-refundable once delivered for your review.
  • Revisions. Most projects include a defined number of revision rounds. Disagreement over a creative direction that’s within the agreed scope isn’t, on its own, grounds for a refund — but we’ll always work with you to get it right.
We’d rather fix it than refund it
If you’re unhappy with project work, tell us early. In almost every case we can adjust scope, add a revision, or find a path forward. Reach us at team@lyfework.io.

4.Monthly Subscriptions & Retainers

Our monthly plans have no long-term lock-in. You can cancel at any time, and you won’t be billed again after your current period ends.

  • Cancel anytime. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your plan stays active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.
  • No partial-month refunds. We don’t pro-rate or refund the current period once it has started, because the work and access for that period have already been made available to you.
  • Annual or prepaid plans. If you prepaid for several months at a discount and cancel early, unused full months may be refunded at the standard (non-discounted) rate, less any setup fees. Your Order will state the specifics.
  • Billing errors. If we charged you in error — a duplicate charge, a charge after a confirmed cancellation, or an incorrect amount — we’ll refund it in full. Just let us know.

5.Setup & Onboarding Fees

Setup Fees cover the work of getting you up and running — onboarding, configuration, migrations, and initial buildout. Because that work is performed up front, Setup Fees are non-refundable once onboarding has started, even if you later cancel the related subscription.

This table is a quick guide; the full sections above govern. We always reserve the right to grant a goodwill refund at our discretion, even when one isn’t required.

7.How to Request a Refund

Email team@lyfework.io with:

  • The name and email associated with your account or Order.
  • The charge or invoice in question (date and amount help).
  • A short note on what you’d like us to look into.

We’ll acknowledge your request within a few business days and aim to resolve it promptly.

8.Processing Time & Method

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Once we initiate a refund, it typically takes 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer. We can’t control the timing on their end.

9.Chargebacks & Disputes

Please contact us first — most issues are a quick fix. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us may result in suspension of active services while the dispute is resolved. If a chargeback is filed for a charge that was valid under this Policy and your Order, we reserve the right to contest it and to recover related fees.

10.Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this Policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction. Where the law gives you a right to a refund that this Policy doesn’t, the law controls.

11.Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last Updated” date above. The version in effect when you made a purchase applies to that purchase.
